About the Author

Ashley Connick is a solicitor with an international law firm. He studied the GDL in the academic year 2010/2011, and the Accelerated LPC between January and July 2012, both at the College of Law (now called the University of Law) in London.

He now lives and works in Dubai. Although now qualified, when he wrote the posts on this site he was still a ‘future lawyer’, and therefore decided to leave the subtitle of this blog as-is.

He graduated from the University of Leeds in 2009 with a degree in European Parliamentary Studies, which included a semester spent at KU Leuven in Belgium, and he worked in marketing for a year in between his undergraduate degree and the GDL. He began his training contract with a Magic Circle firm in 2012, qualifying as a solicitor in 2014; he’s since worked in some of the biggest law firms in the world, as well as spending two years working for a Gulf-based conglomerate. When he’s not working or tweeting, he can often be found watching cricket and or football.
